Leo Trich Jr.
General Manager / Majority Owner

leo.jpgLeo Trich, who has been involved in baseball and sports management for over 20 years. He left his part-time position as the Frontier Professional Baseball League's Director of Development to assist with the development of the new Prospect Collegiate League.

 

In 2002, Trich retired from the Pennsylvania House of Representatives after representing the Washington area for seven consecutive terms.
 
Before that, he was the Commissioner of PONY Baseball, an international youth baseball organization. Trich also served as Vice President of the U.S. Baseball Federation (now USA Baseball) and as a member of the U.S. Olympic Committee.

In 1999, Trich founded Baseball Scholarships Inc, a non-profit organization that built and owns the ballpark now known as Consol Energy Park (formerly Falconi Field). Using his legislative and sports background and his experience in facilities development, Trich was also responsible for securing the highly successful Washington Wild Things professional baseball team to Washington.

From 2006 through 2008, Trich developed and operated the Washington Collegiate BlueSox. He became majority owner of the Butler BlueSox in 2009.

Matt Cunningham
Assistant General Manager

mgc.JPGMatt Cunningham was named Assistant General Manager of the BlueSox prior to the 2010 season. 

A Butler, PA resident, Cunningham graduated from Knoch High School in 2003, Butler County Community College in 2005 (A.D. in Communications), and Robert Morris University in 2007 (B.A. in Communications).

While attending RMU, Matt completed a promotions internship with ABC Radio (ESPN Radio/Radio Disney). He also completed an internship with the Pittsburgh Pirates In-Game Entertainment in 2006.  During the internship with the Pirates Matt assisted in the organization of events for the 2006 MLB All-Star Game.   

Cunningham currently works part-time with the Pirates In-Game Entertainment on game days.  He does so as an In-Game Host Producer and also handles the communication from the scoreboard control room to the ballpark host for all on field pre-game events and between inning activities displayed on the video board. Cunningham at times, operates various scoreboard control room equipment including LED displays, video replay, and game tape logging. He has had the game day staff position with the Pirates since 2007, and will continue to do while working part-time for the BlueSox.
